The Old Testament Reading for the Last Sunday of the Church Year takes us to the incredible book of Isaiah, in chapter 51. This section of God’s Word is beautiful and it has direct parallels to what the Holy Spirit moved Paul to write in His letter to the churches in Rome and Corinth. We are saved by Grace… the only righteousness we have in us has been gifted to us by the Father through Jesus. He has turned all our “have-to’s” into “get to’s”

Our Savior Jesus asks us to look at the things He values rather than the things man values. He asks us to look at the widow who is all-in for Him rather than the celebrities around us or material possessions. In pointing to the widow, Jesus is pointing to Himself, as He has given everything to make us children of God.
