April 10-12
Hidden Acres Christian Center
Join other SOTV men for a retreat designed to strengthen faith through fellowship, time in God’s Word and shared experiences in God’s creation. The weekend begins Friday evening with check-in and an opening program, followed by relaxed activities that will give men space to connect and build relationships. Registration to attend is $80 and includes all lodging and food. Cost should never be a barrier to participation. If financial assistance would be helpful, support is available—please reach out, to Pastor John David and we’ll make sure cost doesn’t stand in the way of attending. Registeration closes at the end of the day on April 5.
Holy Week Prayer Vigil
April 3 9 p.m.
SOTV Youth Room
Join us for 24 hours of unbroken prayer as we move from the solemn remembrance of Good Friday into the hope of Easter morning. Beginning on Good Friday evening at 9 p.m., our church will open a continuous chain of prayer where individuals and families are invited to sign up for a one-hour time slot. Each participant will take part in keeping prayer unbroken through the night and into the following day. During this quiet and reflective time, we will pray for our church, our community and the world, remembering Christ’s sacrifice and preparing our hearts for the joy of the resurrection. Come in silence, with Scripture or guided prayers, the Holy Spirit will meet you in your hour and it will be a blessing. By taking one hour, you help create a full day of continuous prayer symbolizing the watchful hope of God’s people as we wait for the light of Easter. All are welcome to participate.
Volunteers Needed for Summer WonderWorks Camp
SOTV is excited to announce WonderWorks, a 4-day camp June 15-18 designed to spark creativity, hands-on learning and gospel-centered growth for elementary-aged children. Each day is just three hours, but the impact is lasting, helping kids explore new skills, celebrate creativity and experience God’s love in tangible ways.
What is WonderWorks?
WonderWorks invites children to explore making, building, cooking, storytelling, music, sewing, technology, woodworking and more, all while grounding each day in a gospel-centered devotion. Through hands-on activities, campers discover joy in learning, experience the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and see that God is a Creator and we are made in His image to create and serve.
Where You Can Serve:
Maker Leaders: Lead skill-based sessions using your talents.
Devotion & Spiritual Care: Lead daily devotions, pray and provide guidance.
Opening Team: Welcome campers and set the tone for camp.
Community Builders: Greet, serve snacks and run fun activities.
Operations & Logistics: Keep camp running safely and smoothly.
Communications & Outreach: Help with family connections and community promotion.
Join the WonderWorks Team!
Whether your gift is artistic, technical, musical or organizational, there’s a place for you! Volunteer to help spark creativity, faith, and joy in kids’ lives!
Contact Tia Pugh if you see yourself serving in one of these roles. More details on how to sign up children to attend WonderWorks will be communicated this spring!
Adult Bible Class Studying the Mormon Church
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints—more commonly known as the Mormon Church—is one of the fastest-growing religious movements in the world. But what makes it distinctive, and how does it differ from historic Christian teaching? In the Adult Bible Class, “Mormons: Who They Are, What They Believe”, we’ll explore its origins, core beliefs, unique practices, and the central role of the temple. Through Scripture, expert insight, and real-life stories from former members, this study offers clarity, depth, and thoughtful discussion on an important and timely topic. This 6-week study begins today, and will be taught Sunday mornings at 9:15 in Room 19.
The videos and study guides used during this class will be posted each week on our Bible Studies webpage for those who cannot attend in person.

Support Our Door 6 Ministry
Our “Door 6” ministry team -- made up of both high school youth and adults volunteers -- provides a free continental breakfast to students from Valley High School who park in our lot. Each Tuesday morning during the school year, VHS students make stopping by Door 6 to snag some breakfast items before heading to school part of their weekly routine. Our team builds relationships with the students by learning their names and activities they’re involved in, then sending them off with a cheerful smile and wishing them the best each week. It’s another way SOTV is practicing growing relationships with those outside our walls!
You can help SOTV continue this practice of our “genuine hospitality” value in one of three ways:
- Purchase a RaiseRight gift card for HyVee on Sunday morning and donate it to help pay for breakfast items.
- Donate directly using our online giving link. Select “General” for fund, and be sure to type “Door 6 Ministry” in the memo line.
- Help out on Tuesday mornings. Contact Angie Spann to sign up.
