One day our children will depart from us. They will go off to college, begin a career, rent an apartment, buy a home, probably choose a mate. And even before that time comes - as they go through junior high school and high school, our children will be presented with decisions they will begin to make on their own. "Who do I hang out with?" "Should I be home on time or push the envelope?" "Where is it OK for me to go, with or without supervision, or at least my parents' approval?" "Does it matter if my boyfriend is a Christian?" "About that party at Jessie's......."

Children's Ministry at Shepherd of the Valley is based upon building a solid foundation in Jesus Christ for our children to stand upon throughout life and in making decisions. We call that foundation the "Building Blocks of Faith". The premise is simple. Your church and congregation want to be involved with your family and your children from the outset. Each building block is laid next to and on top of the others at strategic points throughout your child's growth and maturation to keep our Triune God first in his or her life. Along the way, the entire family is encouraged and equipped to strengthen, with the goal that each member of the family become a Beacon of God.
